MECHANICAL ENGINEER II
PURPOSE Researches, plans, and designs new, standard and current products and/or assemblies that satisfy customer expectations for quality, performance, reliability and cost. Participates in activities involved in the design, development, testing, fabrication, assembly and operation of our products.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE Recognized Engineering Degree and 1 to 5 years experience; Pressure Vessel experience an asset. Must have autoCAD 2010 and Inventor and experience with ASME codes an asset
DUTIES
· From information furnished regarding the overall engineering requirements, carries out the most complicated design and development assignments · Interacts with suppliers on changes · Provides training, guidance and technical direction · Liaise with plant for testing and implementation of assigned projects · Prepares complicated/detailed drawings, diagrams, layouts, calculations etc · Works without direct supervision but advice and guidance may be provided when required · May check the most complicated work of others · Will produce Bills of Material · Must have experience working with the shop floor · Experience with metal manufacturing an asset · Hands on fabrication experience · Generally understands all fields in engineering · Communicates well to work directly with clients / customers |

ENGINEERING PROJECT MANAGER
Project Management manages turnkey projects from project initiation through design. Monitor project status via spreadsheet or similar tools (excel, MS project, access), schedule project and resolve engineering problems to ensure client milestones are met. Prepare reports presenting the project progress to the client and company executives.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Develops proposals, discusses and negotiates project specifications with client; · Prepares contracts, budgets, and schedules establishing critical milestones, according to client specifications and needs, reviews and reports results and status of the project directly to the client; · Participates in normal issue resolutions between our company, the client, our partners, and sub-contractors recommending solutions to any problems that might be encountered; · Manages the progress of the work in all areas such as CAD, Survey, engineering and design; · Selects sub-contractors required for the project based on previous performance history and cost, negotiate terms and conditions of the agreement; · Optimize project methods and track efficiencies; · Forecast staff workloads and financial data; · Prepares engineering practices for all engineering staff; · Determines the resource requirements for the project, identifies and selects qualified candidates.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education University Degree or Engineering Technology Diploma
Experience 3-5 years CATV project management & design experience in the communications industry
Knowledge · Construction knowledge in communications field a must · Strong knowledge of CATV Design and construction fundamentals; · Lode Data, Bentley Communications, @MApp, SpatielNET experience. · Strong knowledge of MS Project; · Good knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Office; · Knowledge of CAD systems and Survey methods.

ELECTRICAL DESIGN ENGINEER
Our client is a consultancy firm specializing in electrical engineering services primarily for the commercial construction industry. Site surveys, technology reports, evaluation and selection of equipment, conceptual design and design development, engineering coordination, tender drawings and documents, and project management all fall within the scope of their work. At this time, we seek a Design Engineer with exposure to various elements of building design and will be directly involved in the design and development of specialized electrical systems.
Preference will be given to candidates with experience in any of the following specialty areas:
Power distribution, Lighting, Lighting Control, Security Systems, Life Safety, IT/Telecommunications Systems, Audiovisual systems, Acoustic systems, Commissioning
There is an excellent opportunity to advance to project management responsibilities, and therefore seek strong interpersonal and communication skills.
We require strong autoCAD skills, preferably autoCAD 2007. |
