HOW AN EMPLOYMENT AGENCY WORKS FOR A JOB SEEKER
The basic principle of the agency is that we represent a “client”, which in this case is the company that pays our fees. Our mandate is to find qualified candidates to fill a job vacancy within their organization. There is a general misconception that we “find jobs for people”, when in essence, we actually “find people for jobs”, since it is the corporation that “hires” the agency, and pays their fees.
Another interesting fact is that most human resource professionals become involved in this business because they want to work with people, and would like to “help” them, by using their knowledge and skills to improve the lives of others. While this is a noble goal, in reality, it is not the job of a recruiter to perform this function. The onus lies upon the candidate to represent themselves in a manner that justifies the recruiters time and interest in presenting the candidate to the client.
Having said all of that, it is these same human resource professionals that have the contacts, education, knowledge and experience to assist a job seeker in making their presentation competitive and marketable to companies.
Over the years, it became apparent to us that we needed to provide a service to job seekers that did not interfere with the interest of our clients. We needed to provide an opportunity for a job seeker to learn and understand what it is that human resource professionals and potential employers are looking for, and educating these job seekers on how to present the truth in a manner that does not automatically eliminate their resume from the process during the “first screening”. We believe that job applicants want to be truthful with potential employers, and therefore must represent their true situations in a manner that allows a potential employer to fully understand the circumstances. Lying is NOT easier - nor is it the way an honorable individual moves forward in a relationship.
Again, it is important to emphasize that Worth Personnel Group does not charge job seekers when we send their resumes to our clients for an opportunity for which they are qualified. There is no fee to be represented on any position you may find on our job listings.
For those job seekers who feel that they would like to invest in a one-to-one session with a job coach or a life coach, we offer consultation services, on request. The consultation services are offered to job seekers who feel they need an objective and knowledgeable perspective on their competitiveness in the marketplace, that feel that they would like to make a career change, or are seeking solutions in resolving career conflicts.
For additional information, our Job Seeker Services will provide you with a more detailed outline of this service. We work on a one-to-one basis with you, and spend time only on the challenges that may be an obstacle to your success. We make recommendations to overcome these barriers, and ensure that the consultant with whom you are working has the expertise to assist you.
